Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
TSH is the signal from the pituitary gland that tells the thyroid how much hormone to make. It is usually read with free T4 and sometimes free T3 to understand thyroid function.

Free Triiodothyronine (FT3)
Free T3 is the active thyroid hormone available to tissues. Much of it comes from converting T4, so illness, energy intake and inflammation can affect the result and it is read with free T4 and TSH.

Free T4 measures the main thyroid hormone available to tissues. The body converts it to the more active T3, so free T4 is read with TSH and sometimes free T3.
