Fasting Glucose
Fasting glucose is your blood sugar after an overnight fast. It gives a snapshot of glucose control at one point in time and is often paired with HbA1c, which reflects a longer period.

Glycated Haemoglobin (HbA1c)
HbA1c shows your average blood sugar over roughly two to three months by measuring glucose attached to red-cell haemoglobin. It is useful for long-term glucose control, although conditions that change red-cell lifespan can affect the result.
