What does AMH mean?

Anti-Müllerian hormone is produced by developing ovarian follicles and by testicular cells. In adults it can add context about ovarian reserve, fertility treatment and a PCOS pattern.

AMH, or Anti-Müllerian Hormone, is made by developing ovarian follicles and, in males, by testicular cells. In adults it can help assess ovarian reserve, fertility treatment response or a polycystic ovary syndrome pattern, while its meaning differs in children and males. Age, sex, assay and clinical purpose are essential, and AMH does not measure egg quality or predict natural pregnancy on its own.
